Buying a Sauna

When buying a sauna, you need to consider certain factors to attain the best experience. There are dozens of types of saunas for sale in the market today, and an inexperienced person may easily be confused. This article is here to help you learn more about the different types of saunas for sale and lead you to buy the right kind of sauna for you.

The design of a sauna depends on the type of heater that it uses. Saunas that are currently for sale use one of four possible heaters: electric, gas, wooden, and infrared heaters.

Infrared heaters

The main advantage of infrared heaters is that they heat the body directly, instead of the air in the sauna. Direct heating penetrates muscles deeper, relaxing them without requiring too much energy. Another advantage of infrared saunas is that they provide more comfort than traditional sauna heaters. Finally, since infrared saunas do not use steam to heat the body, they can reduce germs or bacteria infestation, creating a sanitary sauna experience. You can find an infrared sauna heater for sale at about $1,500.

Electric heaters

Electric sauna heaters are commonly used in spas and home sauna systems.  Manufacturers usually sell these heaters in different grades. The higher the grade, the better the quality. If it fits your budget, buying an electric sauna heater with a high grade is highly recommended. These are very durable and can provide you with a great experience. One of the advantages of using an electric sauna heater is its versatility. These sauna heaters usually come with a control box that allows the user to adjust the heat.

However, the electric sauna heaters have a big drawback. These heaters consume lots of energy, so expect your electric bills to rise if you are planning to use this type of heater. Electric saunas for sale cost about $700, less than half the cost of an infrared sauna heater.

Gas and wooden sauna heaters

These are the cheapest sauna types available. Furthermore, a wooden fire burning in a small dark room provides a far more relaxing ambiance compared to the previous two models which simply present a sauna as a process instead of an experience.  However, they may not produce the same results as the infrared or electric types since they do not cleanse the body as comprehensively as the first two. Finally, wooden and gas sauna heaters can become a great fire hazard if not properly taken care of. These heaters are no longer sold in the market since because of the popularity of the first two models. However, there are some spas and saunas that still use these facilities. These range in cost from $1600 to $2500, depending on their size and output.
